The fears of some Nigerians who felt the country has been placed on wrong hands was quickly confirmed , when it was widely reported, that the DSS under the leadership of Daura Lawal had led an invasion into the Akwa Ibom state government house on the pretext of intelligent report.
I quickly knew it was a sign of things to come. I used the opportunity to speak in a local school ( name with held) about my upcoming YA fiction ' THE BOND' and echoed the minds of the fearless critics by condemning this undemocratic act. As if that was not enough, they went further to forcefully evict the past DSS from his home.
As expected, the puppet of this administration saw nothing wrong and rose up in defence of this barbaric act. This decision of theirs, I believe spurred the decision of the military to commit genocide against the armless, harmless, hapless but not helpless IPOB/MASSOB protesters. Who in their right were only asking the Federal government to obey the court order by releasing their detained leader. A legitimate course i believe.
The high and mighty as expected kept mute as the military once again turned their guns towards the innocent shitte performing their Islamic right and massacred over 1,000 souls.
The body of the slain lay in the pool of their blood as those elected to speak could not bark. Then I began to wonder, why would the military turned their guns away from the sea pirates in the south south, allowed themselves to be overpowered by the vandals in the south west, the kidnappers having a field day in the south east and the boko boys carving a state within a state. But are quick to exercise its military strength against the armless while the Federal government is occupied prosecuting its perceived political enemies.
Then I realized, Nigeria is in a quagmire situation.
